Yucca Elementary, one of 10 schools in the Artesia Public School District, is home to over 275 first through fifth grade students from the southeastern portion of New Mexico. Our small town school in the Pecos Valley enjoys a family-like atmosphere that enables our students to succeed. We encourage them to spread their wings and open their minds as they “learn from the past, live in the present, but plan for their boundless future.”
As part of our partnership with families, we offer all Yucca students a free breakfast each day. We serve breakfast from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. in the bistro. If you would like your child(ren) to participate in this free program, please ensure that he or she arrives at school no later than 8:10 each morning to allow enough time to eat before class begins. After breakfast, students have the opportunity to spend extra time on the playground. Eating a healthy breakfast and moving their bodies is a great way for students to start the day and prepare their brains to learn!

Our parent-teacher organization, Y.E.S., is full of people who desire to be a positive and proactive part of their child’s education. Throughout the year, Y.E.S. provides our community with many opportunities to volunteer and get to know the teachers at our school. If you are looking for a way to get involved at Yucca or would like some ideas about how you can help support your child on his/her educational journey, we invite you to learn more about Y.E.S.
